Review of my week.

Inspired by Ben Gilchrists’ blog (bengilchrist.tumblr.com) I’m gonna review a few things from my week.

Not Eating Sugar: 5/5

Having decided I’m too addicted to sugar (constant sugar cravings, spiking energy levels, sudden mood swings), I decided to cut down drastically on my processed sugar (the stuff that hits your system instantly). I feel much more refreshed all the time, I sleep better, I feel like my brain power is increasing and I’m happier. It also forces me to eat more fruit and veg, which is obviously a good thing.

Swimming In the Sea: 1/5

Normally I enjoy swimming in the sea, going down the beach, getting some sun, etc. However when a few of us decided to go swimming the weather was much nicer than it was when we got there. The sea was at high tide, and extremely choppy. After getting in the freezing cold water (and I mean ice cold, I cannot emphasise this enough) we decided to swim out to some buoys. About three quaters of the way there, we all decided to turn back as we didn’t feel we’d make it. Swimming back was even harder as the tide was now going out and we nearly didn’t make it back. I was so tired and with lungs full of saltwater that when I hit solid ground I was so relieved I nearly screamed hallelujah.

Tennis Then Football: 3/5

I played three sets of tennis on thursday morning until about 3, then went to football training at 7. The tennis was great, although I am by no means a tennis player, and even though I lost in three straight sets I did enjoy myself. Already tired I then had to go to football training in the evening, which was mainly fitness. I like to think I have a fairly high natural fitness, even though I’m not particularly fit at the moment. I proved this to myself by keeping up the top of the fitness training despite the hours of tennis a few hours earlier. One thing I didn’t like was not being the quickest, coming second in a 100m(ish) sprint. I really take for granted my metabolism and stamina, and one day it will fade and I will really miss it.

Working All Weekend: 4/5

I like my job, it’s not too taxing. I really get on with everyone I work with. I like earning money. Workings not that bad. I wish I could find a full time job doing something I enjoy.

Eating Out: 4/5

I’ve eaten out three times in the last 4 days and it’s always nice to have someone else cook for you. It’s expensive however, but it’s more about the company you keep. Nothing’s better than sitting down to a pub lunch menu with friends, arguing about who’s gonna have the 2 for 1 with who, and then everone having a tenner so you all have to order seperatly. Classic.

Fantasy Football: 4/5

Picking a fantasy football team is hard. And extremely fun. Will Steven Ireland shine as much as last season? Is Lampard worth 12.5million? What players from the promoted teams should I include? I have changed my team so much I think half of the players in the Premier League have featured in my team so far. I’ve come second two years running now, and I’m determined it’s my year.

And there you have it, a few things from my week, rated out of five.
